ON ISSUE OF EXTERNAL RUSSOPHOBIA (D. URQUHART’S ANTI-RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN IN THE BRITISH PRESS IN 1831-1840)

Abstract. External Russophobia has become one of the most topical themes of scientific researches lately. For more than six centuries it is possible to trace the hatred and hostile feelings of the West towards Russia. The present article covers the decennial period (1831-1840) of the display of Russophobia in Great Britain, which cannot be considered apart from one of the most outstanding representatives of the British Russophobia - the diplomat and publicist D. Urquhart.
