Abstract. The problem field of historical-cultural heritage preservation determines a number of the goals of museological science. The sequence of the processes of the revelation, preservation, study, interpretation and actualization of the material and nonmaterial objects of heritage concerns theoretical and practical approach to monuments museumification. In the article the analysis of the historical-cultural environment of dacha area by the example of Gatchina district of Leningrad region and Kurortny district of St. Petersburg grounds the necessity of its preservation and integration into modern cultural space. The author considers the space of the dacha of the XIX-XX centuries as an object of environmental museumification for the first time.
