ORGANIZATION OF SPECIAL-PURPOSE CAMPS IN THE TERRITORY OF STALINGRAD REGION (1942-1945)

Abstract. The article touches upon the history of special-purpose camps establishing in the period of the Great Patriotic War within the territory of Stalingrad region. On the basis of the documents, which are kept in central and regional archives the author identifies the conditions of special camps establishing, their specific features; singles out the reasons of their transfer and liquidation; and analyzes the main problems of the organization of working conditions and the way of life of special contingent. The additional functions of special camps on the labour use of the contingent in the building and restoration of objects in the region are revealed.
