PEOPLE’S SCHOOL OF BALASHOV DISTRICT OF SARATOV PROVINCE IN THE 40-60S OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract. The article touches upon the process of the initiation of public education system and the origin of independent peasant schools, the initiative of district agency, the charitable deeds of certain landowners and representatives of the clergy. The author concentrates main attention on the ascertainment of the appearance of the first schools within the territory of Balashov district of Saratov province, on the content of education, teaching staff and the methods of their pedagogical mastery.
