Abstract. The issue of justice in government of a state in the conceptions of the Russian religious thinkers of the XV-XVI centuries (Ermolai-Erazm, Maximus the Greek, Joseph Volotsky, Nil Sorsky) is considered in the article. It is shown that the aforementioned thinkers defined government of a state as an unjust one; they proposed a solution of this issue by using the methods of the monarch’s moral make-up improvement (it is provided by eradication of "greed for money") and "truth", "mercy" and "tsar’s mind" principles combination in governance process.
