FACTORS OF DEVELOPING NOBLEMEN’S MANORS IN SPASSKII DISTRICT IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX - AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article investigates the business activities of landowners in Spasskii district of Kazan province. The author analyzes the experience of the adaptation of certain manors to the economic conditions that developed in the second half of the XIX - at the beginning of the XX century after the abolition of serfage in 1861. This enabled to identify the factors allowing the local noblemen to preserve land ownership in the investigated district.
