ON ISSUE OF MODERN TRANSFORMATION OF KAZAKHSTAN TATARS’ ETHNIC BORDERS

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying Kazakhstan Tatars’ ethnic identity. The Tatars are one of the historically formed diasporas in this poly-cultural region. During more than two-century living within Kazakhstan territory the Tatars managed to preserve their ethnic self-consciousness and national traditions. The issue on Kazakhstan Tatars’ modern ethnic borders and their transformation in different age groups is touched upon in the research. The most important factor influencing ethno-cultural markers is a national-language competence.
