THE MUSLIM INTELLECTUALS OF UFA PROVINCE: GENESIS, QUANTITY, STRUCTURE

Abstract. The article considers the issues related to the emergence of the intellectuals among the Bashkirs, Tatars and other Turkic-Muslim peoples of Ufa province. The quantity and structure of the Muslim intellectuals are analyzed. The author pays special attention to the educational institutions that played their role in the intellectuals staff’s training, particularly, to Kazan University and Neplyuev Military School, non-Russian teachers’ training schools, and the madrassas of Ufa and Orenburg provinces.
