Abstract. This article considers sharakans – the unique hymns of the Armenian Church. Sharakans are characterized as a genre of the sacred music of the Armenians; the time and preconditions of their origin, their position in the system of the Armenian tradition sacred hymns are determined. The research of sharakans compositional organization, which is not completely represented in scientific literature, is the aim of this publication. Sharakans compositional feature is revealed by the example of the analysis of sharakans structure in connection with the sacred (the system of Ut-dzayn voices) and ethnic music art of the Armenians.
