V. PUTIN’S THIRD PRESIDENTIAL TERM: ON ISSUES OF LEGITIMACY

Abstract. This article considers how the Russian political scientists assess V. Putin’s third presidential term. Comparing different viewpoints that exist among experts and following the data of a number of centers for the study of public opinion, the author comes to the conclusion that V. Putin has a fairly high degree of legitimacy. The third presidential term may be subjected to various challenges of changing political reality. Public support of V. Putin’s political course will depend on how he will cope with them.
