Abstract. In the article the analysis of the musical creative contacts of the great Polish pianist Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982) with the famous conductors of the XX th century is given. The author suggests the contrastive characteristic of sound material written down by the pianist and his contemporaries. The author of the article for the first time acquaints the Russian readers with the fragments of foreign autobiographic and monographic literature devoted to Arthur Rubinstein by the materials of her own translations.
