FRACTAL MEANINGS OF THEISTIC ONTOLOGIES AND SACRED ARTIFACTS

Abstract. The article analyzes the postulates of the sacred texts and artifacts of some theistic ontologies from the fractal conception perspective. It shows that the Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and some other religious and mythopoetic pictures of the world are based on the fractal model of Being. Fractal properties are also inherent both in sacred artifacts and many ancient and modern artworks related to transcendent subject matter. The author supposes that the syncretic optics of world view enabled ancient people to "read off" and "construct" the fractal codes of cosmogonic order (nature and socium). The work has an interdisciplinary character and its methodological aim is to apply the theoretical tools of digital humanities to culturological reflection.
