THEATRICAL ART OF KARACHAY-CERKESSIA: PAST AND PRESENT

Abstract. The article analyzes the processes of the formation and development of four professional theaters in the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic (KCR). Both the commonness of interests and local differences are shown. Their activity is closely connected to the social-political life of the Republic, integrated into contemporary artistic process. The author considers the performances, demonstrating the artistic attraction of polylogue, the scientific understanding of national identity and the creative mastering of different stage schools techniques, as priority ones.
