Abstract. In the article the changes of science institution in innovative society because of innovative economy functioning and its interest in scientific researches products are analyzed. The change of society attitude to the results of fundamental and applied researches, market motivation influence on the transformation of the aims, motives and directions of scientific activity are shown. The transformation of the scientist’s social role characteristics and his personal features is considered. Processes taking place now are assessed.
