"WE NEED EUROPE FOR SEVERAL DECADES, AND THEN...": ON PROBLEM OF PETER’S EUROPEANIZATION SPECIFICITY

Abstract. The article considers the specificity and nature of borrowing the West European experience by Peter I in the course of transforming activity. The author substantiates the thesis on the combinatorial nature of Peter’s reforms based on cross-cultural synthesis. The origin of the problem of the civilizational self-determination of Russia and the influence of Peter’s reforms on its development are traced, and the ideas of ??the "anti-Russian" orientation of the latter are criticized.
