Abstract. The article considers the problem of creating a conservative and reconstructive programme of folk crafts as an integral part of cultural heritage and modern innovative resource. By the materials of a sociological research an attempt is undertaken to determine the status of traditional crafts conservation in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and the demand and possibilities of the business-adaptation of certain items of material culture in modern conditions.
