SOCIAL-POLITICAL SYSTEM OF THE PRC IN THE RUSSIAN SINOLOGISTS’ EVALUATION

Abstract. The article analyzes the main directions of studying modernizing China and highlights the subjects of the greatest interest for the Russian researchers. It summarizes the concepts and evaluations of the Chinese social system established in the years of the modernization and reform of China put forward by the Russian sinologists in the 1990-2000s. Various approaches to the understanding of "socialism with the Chinese characteristics" and the role of the Communist Party of China, as well as to prospects for the political reform and democratization of the Chinese society existing in the Russian sinology are represented in the article.
