Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of the creation and development of transport corridors within the territory of the countries of GUAM. The author makes a brief review of such international programmes as INOGATE and TRACECA. The article provides an overview of the economic importance of the Caspian oil transit to the countries of GUAM. A special feature of this work is the fact that the author analyzes precisely those transport and electric power corridors between Europe and Asia, which pass GUAM territory, and focuses on those projects within the programmes that are directly related to the countries of GUAM.
