CREATIVE WAY OF L. D. KREUTZER AND FORMATION OF THE JAPANESE PIANO SCHOOL

Abstract. The article is devoted to the outstanding musician undeservedly little-known in Russia, the representative of the Russian piano school, who worked in Japan in the 30-50s of the XX century. The creative way of the pianist and teacher, who played the key role in bringing the Japanese piano school up to the global level, is considered in the context of piano culture formation in Japan. The relationship of the pianist with the Russian musical culture is shown. Some data concerning the life and career of L. D. Kreutzer are for the first time introduced into use in national musicology.
