Abstract. The article reveals the basic problems in securing the higher living standards of the elderly people residing within the territory of modern Russia. The paper emphasizes the possibility for solving the age-related problems by means of active interaction with welfare offices. Modern pensioners would like to lead an active life at elderly age and have an access for the extended spectrum of social services under limited moving.
