Abstract. The article considers various approaches to the definition of the notion "conflict model" that exist in modern domestic conflictology. Without claiming to completely state and solve this philosophical problem the author answers the following questions: what is meant by model of conflict; what are the goals of modelling a conflict; what new knowledge about conflict do we get when creating its model. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the compliance "conflict - model of conflict" and the definition of what may be a prototype in this compliance, and what can be considered as an image in establishing this compliance.
