LEVEL OF PARENTS’ PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE IN RUSSIA: HISTORICAL ASPECT

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of parents’ psychological and pedagogical competence. The author analyzes the features of family pedagogical culture formation at the end of the ХIХ century, considers the views of the great pedagogical figures of the ХХ century on this problem, emphasizes the importance of the transformation of the notion "pedagogical culture of family" into the notion "psychological and pedagogical competence of parents", and proves the expediency of the formation of parents’ psychological and pedagogical competence as an essential component of today’s changes in education and society.
