Abstract. The article considers the specificity of social cognition. The thesis is formulated that as a result of socium rapid development the risk of the incorrect interpretation of the research results of various events occurring in society increases that leads to errors in social cognition. The factors that contribute to the errors occurrence are enumerated. It is concluded that the researcher should be objective, impartial and should base on specific facts to avoid errors.
