BIOMETRIC DOCUMENTS IN MODERN SOCIETY

Abstract. The article considers the emergence and development of different types of biometric documents. Biometric documents, due to the uniqueness of biometric data they contain, allow ensuring the reliable identification and safety of citizens. Therefore, they are used for the identification, authentication and authorization of the person, search for people (criminals, terrorists, missing), payment for goods and services, taking into account the use of working time, and so on. Due to the fact that biometric documents carry out a set of functions, they play an important role in the life of society.
