Abstract. The article examines problems related to changing the status of science in the modern world. Nowadays mankind witnesses the transformation of biosphere into techno-sphere, where science is closely associated with technology; it results in the formation of techno-science. In spite of growing negative attitude to science on the part of society the latter is not ready to abandon the achievements of scientific-technical progress that results in axiological crisis and makes the further development of mankind unpredictable.
