Abstract. The article touches on the major periods of collecting and publishing Vladimir chastushka based on the analysis of bibliographic and archival sources. This stage is a fundamental one in studying the traditional forms of the genre functioning within the framework of the investigated tradition. Its importance is determined by the historical and ethnographical value of findings representing chastushka as a sociocultural phenomenon of the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XXI century.
