Abstract. The article reveals the moral content of historical consciousness, which is largely manifested in the following antinomies: sense - nonsense, good - evil, truth - lie, responsibility - irresponsibility, memory - unconsciousness. The antinomy of historical consciousness shows the depth and multidimensionality of historical process, the impossibility of its rationalization within a single theory. The analysis of these antinomies allows understanding how historicity is formed in general. The author pays special attention to the moment that consciousness becomes truly historical when it realizes these antinomies, accepts them rather than tries to ignore.
