PROVINCIAL TOWN IN THE 30S OF THE XX CENTURY (BY THE EXAMPLE OF TYUMEN)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of the typical provincial town in the 1930s, when economic modernization and other "challenges" of the epoch activated provincial life, stimulated changes in economic, social and spiritual spheres, revealed many problems of urban environment. The analysis of urban lifestyle and the peculiarities of the socio-economic and cultural environment of the provincial town by the example of Tyumen allowed, on the one hand, reconstructing certain features of the living standards of the population and, on the other hand, identifying the specific features of developing both the province on the whole and the town of Tyumen in particular.
