MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF ABSTRACT PAINTING OF THE BEGINNING OF THE XX TH CENTURY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the aesthetic-philosophical comprehension of the abstract painting of the beginning of the XX th century. The author pays special attention to the revelation of the main characteristics of abstract painting as a part of avant-garde phenomenon (startling essence, formalism, eclecticism and so on). The author for the first time presents her own definition of abstract painting as a Homeric one, that, in its turn, is a "painting of Absolute".
