Abstract. Democracy and civil society mutual connection and influence essence is researched in the article. The author pays attention to the conceptual versatility of civil society phenomenon and analyzes its role in democracy different models formation and democratization process development. The problem issues of the mutual influence of "young democracy" and civil society development in Ukraine are singled out, which, in the author’s opinion, drag out political system democratization process.
