Abstract. The article presents the overview of approaches to the analysis of religiosity in the conditions of post-traditional transformations. Under the influence of modernization and traditionalism trends religious situation underwent major changes. On the one hand, reference to traditional identities was inevitable under the conditions of integrative "sovietness" disappearance. On the other hand, traditionalism, including confessional one, is in crisis in the modernizing world. The type of the believer has changed; the process of ethnic-confessional identification is rationalized. This contradiction in the world, still retaining the features of traditional nature, becomes a source of conflicts between old and new collective identities.
