SOCIAL PRACTICES OF INTERACTION BETWEEN HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS AND LOCAL COMMUNITY

Abstract. The article reveals the essence of the social function of higher education establishments, and presents the analysis of existing practices of interaction between higher education establishments and local community. Basing on the conducted expert interview and content analysis of the press the author represents the specificity and the main directions of social role implementation in higher education establishments within the space of an industrial city. The results of the conducted research show the eclectic nature of existing practices of interaction between higher education establishments and local community, and the weak position of social responsibility of higher education establishments.
