T. HOBBES’S PHILOSOPHY OF LIBERTY THROUGH PRISM OF CIVIL SOCIETY AND STATE

Abstract. The author describes the conceptual principles of liberty interpretation as the object of reflection in Thomas Hobbes’s social-philosophical views, considers liberty at two levels: natural and civil, shows that the thinker interprets liberty in relation with necessity and causation, the connection of liberty and discourse practice in the state, and undertakes an attempt to critically interpret the understanding of civil society in Thomas Hobbes’s doctrine.
