ANTI-RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDA AMONG NATIONAL MINORITIES OF WESTERN REGION OF RUSSIA IN THE 1920S

Abstract. The author reveals the features of anti-religious propaganda among minorities in the western region of Russia in the 1920s. As in other regions of the country, the members of the Union of Militant Atheists took the most active part in anti-religious propaganda. However, efforts in struggle with religion were often in vain, because the specificity of the peasant way of life, long-term traditions and customs contributed to the preservation of religious beliefs.
