MASS MEDIA AND CYNICISM IN CONTEXT OF IDENTITY CRISIS

Abstract. The author considers the problem of modern cynicism, defines it as the desacralization of significant cultural phenomena and values??, on the one hand, and the desacralization of the man as a free and independent individual, on the other, associates the origin of modern cynicism with the manipulative techniques of mass media and identity crisis generated by the post-modern sense of the world and globalization, raises the question about the ways of creating a critically thinking and at the same time positive person from the modern man, and concludes that the education system and state should take an active part in performing this task.
