FEATURES OF THE WORKERS AND PEASANTS’ RED ARMY BATTLE ACTIONS IN ODESSA OPERATION (ACCORDING TO DOCUMENTS OF CENTRAL ARCHIVE OF THE RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENCE)

Abstract. The author considers the features of the battle actions of the Workers and Peasants’ Red Army in Odessa operation, basing on the research of the sources from the Central Archive of the Russian Ministry of Defence analyzes the previously little studied aspects of the attack, such as the effect of weather conditions, the actions of the mechanized cavalry group of I. A. Pliev, and for the first time introduces the documents that reveal the dynamics of the fights of the 10 th Guards Cavalry Division in Ovidiopol' region during 9-11 April 1944 into scientific circulation.
