Abstract. The author analyzes the specificity of modern society modalities axiological transformation, reveals the problems and risks of consumer society, discusses the questions of spirituality and spiritual identity, the mental and vital nature of the individual and their manifestation in the modern conditions, gives the characteristic of the spiritual-moral situation of modernity and the origins of the fall of the spirit, and mentions that the way out of all dead ends of modernity is to make one’s way to the true reality of a person centered in his "spiritual heart".
