PEASANT HOUSE IN WESTERN REGION OF RUSSIA IN THE 1920S

Abstract. The author reveals the peculiarities of Peasant Houses activity in the Western region of Russia, shows that the main task of Peasant Houses was the worthy reception of rural visitors in the town. Peasants were provided with lectures and talks, newspapers and magazines, movies and legal assistance, noting Peasant Houses role in the organization of agitation and propaganda, the author, at the same time, positively estimates the realization of cultural-enlightening function by them.
