Abstract. The author researches the problems of the organizational and tactical foundations of the investigation of firearms and ammunition smuggling, substantiates the necessity to study this issue within the framework of modern criminalistics, also determines the understanding of investigation organizational and tactical foundations, reveals their structural levels, describes and analyzes the content of organizational and tactical foundations functions, and distinguishes them according to the goal orientation of organizational and tactical tasks and foundations.
