Abstract. The author considers and analyzes the key positions in the understanding of the notion "investigator’s procedural independence", pays special attention to the definition of the investigator’s procedural independence in the criminal-procedural legislation of the Russian Federation, also provides his own understanding of the notion "investigator’s procedural independence", and substantiates the necessity of its consolidation in the Criminal-Procedural Code of the Russian Federation.
