Abstract. The author analyzes epistemic contextualism in K. DeRose’s formulation, reveals its origins in P. Unger’s theory, determines its main provisions, analyzes specific examples, where context determines the conditions of sentences validity containing epistemic modality "to know", reveals the relationships of epistemic context with language pragmatics, and considers epistemic contextualism as a possible way of radical skepticism overcoming.
