FEAR OF DEATH IN COLLECTIVISTIC AND INDIVIDUALISTIC CULTURES

Abstract. The author considers the essence and nature of the phenomenon of fear of death in ontological aspect, along with the biological component of fear of death typically reveals its spiritual component associated with the human realization of his (her) mortality, determines that the intensification of fear of death depends on the degree of personality and society individualization development, taking it into account conducts the comparative analysis of fear of death, and researches the mechanisms of its neutralization in collectivistic and individualistic cultures.
