Abstract. The author discusses the main problems of machine and tractor stations (MTS) material and technical base development in Eastern Siberia by the example of The Buryat-Mongol Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and Krasnoyarsk territory after the September Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (1953), presents plans for capital construction in MTS, covers the questions that arose in the course of their implementation concerning the creation and expansion of the industrial and social infrastructure of MTS, and considers the main shortcomings and the reasons behind the slowdown in the construction activity rate in MTS in the second half of the 1950s.
