GOLD MINING POLICY IN THE USSR: FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT STAGES (1923-1991)

Abstract. The author considers the main stages in the formation and development of the state policy in the gold mining industry of the USSR, pays particular attention to the implementation of the content, methods and mechanisms of the gold mining policy, conducts a retrospective analysis that allows revealing the correlation between the constant need for gold, gold mining rate increase and the state-legal regulation of gold mining enterprises activity, determines the effectiveness of the national gold mining policy taking into account the country’s economic development and the role of gold in the international arena.
