Abstract. The authors reveal the content of the notion "state coercion", which provokes new discussions in modern society in connection with the legal state formation in our country, emphasize the role of public authorities, which, in accordance with the law, have the right to apply state coercion measures, and pay special attention to the analysis of such terms as "state coercion", "state mechanism", "law machinery".
