Abstract. The author researches the Ukrainian ex libris. The scientific novelty of the work is in the study of the non-researched features of the Ukrainian ex-librists’ artistic language. The systematization of the notions allows highlighting the key points in the question of decoration and ornamentation, on the basis of comparative analysis revealing their differences, which types, motifs, graphic elements combinations, colours and symbols of ornamentation are the most frequently used in compositions.
