INTER-CONFESSIONAL "SEDUCTIONS" WITHIN WESTERN RUSSIA LANDS AND AUTOCRACY POSITION IN THIS QUESTION IN 1796-1801

Abstract. The author considers the question of different confessions representatives’ numerous transitions from one confession to another within the western Russian lands in 1796-1801, tells that they became the focus of attention on the part of the authority, presents the facts of "seductions", analyzes the actions of concerned church and state structures, and comes to the conclusion about the uncompromising position of the Russian Orthodox Church and the flexible policy of the secular authority in this question.
