Abstract. The author researches cohousing as a form of modern ideological community, combining the features of eco-settlement, housing cooperative and commune, substantiates that cohousing, being a part of post-industrial suburbanization phenomenon and the further development of condominium, can be a solution to much of the problems associated with modern metropolises, and pays special attention to the social aspect of such communities.
