Abstract. Today Internet is the most dynamically developing and yet the least studied means of communication, which has the widest opportunities for its organization. The author considers the notion of Internet-mediated communication as a new form of social-cultural interaction, analyzes the features of virtual discourse flow and the opportunities that it offers, and comes to the conclusion about the influence of this communication method on separate social sectors and society in whole.
