ORGANIZATION OF MEDICAL CARE FOR CHILDREN IN EASTERN SIBERIA IN THE 1930S

Abstract. The author, basing on the study of regional and central archives materials, analyzes the process of the organization of medical care for children in Eastern Siberia in the 1930s, shows the creation of children’s consultations, clinics, hospitals, health protection posts for children and teenagers, presents the dynamics of infants and children’s mortality rate in Eastern Siberia in the 1930s as one of the criteria of the effective rendering of medical care for children, and concludes that there was a trend of infants and children’s mortality reduction within Eastern Siberia during the 1930s due to the gradual establishment of health care institutions network aimed to protect children’s health.
